A. It is usually recommended to eat about 1-2 Amalaki fruits per day or you can take as per your taste as well. It can be either eaten raw or in the form of juice. The other ways to consume it as pickles, murabba, Chutney or dried powder. However, it is generally advisable to consult a physician before using Amla for medicinal purposes.

A. We can eat raw Amalaki. It can also be consumed in the form of juice or paste as it is packed with various nutrients such as Vitamin C,Iron and many minerals, calcium and fibres. But due to its six different tastes sometime it is not palpable and thus can be taken in higher strength in Capsules form.

A. Amalaki helps to reduce the damage to intestineinner linings by increasing production of mucin that protects the gastrointestinal tract from acid attack, harmful micro-organisms in the gut and physical damages. Gallic acid in Amalaki protects the mucosal lining of the gutand helps in ulcer healing. That is why, Amalaki is known to have anti-secretory and anti-ulcer action and works as a gastro-protective agent.It also helps in easy expulsion of stool due to its Rechana (mild laxative) property.

A.  Amalaki has cardioprotective property. It increases the Pachak Agni (digestive fire) and controls the level of high cholesterol which helps maintain a healthy heart. The antioxidant property of Amalaki supports to fight against the free radicals and inhibit the oxidation of LDL cholesterol. This reduces plaque formation in the blood vessels and minimizes the risk of blockage and heart attacks.

A. Amalaki can be used for the management of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease due to its anti-cholinesterase activity.
